Concept:
The Figure Study series focuses on the intricate study of the human form. Each figure's pose is created to represent the contraction and expansion of specific muscle groups. Rather than the end result being preconceived, the sculpture is fashioned as it progresses.
Development:
Reclaimed metal is the primary material used to create the sculptures. Each of the reclaimed components are selected by their natural characteristics and integrated into the work. The components are chosen based on the characteristics and how they best represent the human anatomy.
Latest Development
"Figure Study V" is the latest sculpture completed in this series. "Figure Study VI" is currently in development.
