Fusion Series

I attempt to combine the 3dimensional qualities of my sculptures with the 2dimensional qualities of paintings to create “sculptural paintings”. By utilizing this, the paintings are no longer confined to a rectangular shape and are permitted to evolve into a multi-level, multi-perspective painting. A range of colours are introduced into the sculptural paintings to add a visual curiosity and to work as an opposition to the solid monotone steel “frame”. The presence of shadows cast on the pieces play a large role in my work because they compliment the abstract paintings by creating a middle-ground or transition between the sculpture and painting
